I have seen other times when a person inside a building was not covered.\u00a0 For example, any intentional criminal act would not be covered by automobile insurance.\u00a0 If someone intentionally rammed a building it would not be covered.\u00a0 I have also seen a case involving a driver being shot in a drive-by shooting and the insurance of the innocent shooting victim did not cover the claim.\u00a0 Another category of things that can happen while driving and prevent insurance from covering you is acts of God.\u00a0 If a vehicle is pushed into the building by a tornado, you would not be able to make a claim against the driver.\u00a0 Another frequent way that the at-fault driver may not be covered by insurance is when they do not have permission from the vehicle owner to drive the car.\u00a0 Unidentified hit and run drivers can also get away without being held accountable for their actions.<\/p>\n
There are many ways that insurance may not help you even when someone else causes your injury in a motor vehicle accident.\u00a0 The best way to protect yourself is with good insurance of your own.\u00a0 Every insurance policy includes uninsured and underinsured coverage that can help if you were injured and it was someone else\u2019s fault.\u00a0 There are also optional types of insurance that can help regardless of who caused the accident and even if the at-fault driver had no insurance.\u00a0 It is best to have good health insurance and to have good car insurance of your own.\u00a0 When selecting car insurance you should consider options such as increasing your coverage above the state minimum and you may want medical coverage or even collision coverage to pay for your vehicle damage.<\/p>\n
