4111 Pioneer Woods Drive, Lincoln NE
The Venue restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Lincoln for many reasons. The restaurant is quite large with a circular dining area, a lounge, and a private dining section. It is almost impossible to explain how beautiful and elegant it is inside. They offer a coat check-in before seating you with your choice of where to sit. The wall that separates the dining area from the lounge is filled with unique and colorful glass art.
In the center of the main dining area is a large sculpture that is most eye-catching. I have eaten in every section available except for the private party room. I love sitting in the main dining area with the sculpture in full view. The lounge area is a fun place to sit. I like being at the bar in this section because the chairs are large and comfortable. I also appreciate that the restrooms are always clean and well-maintained.
The menu is amazing and not just the food menu. The wine menu is extensive, whites and reds of all types of wines. If you want to relax with an adult beverage they have you covered. The bartenders here seem to have extensive knowledge on making and mixing drinks. If you have food allergies they will special prep your meal. They also offer a gluten-free menu. Every time I come in for either lunch or dinner I start myself with the crab cakes. Four large crab cakes sure to melt in your mouth. I have also tried their spinach and artichoke dip, lobster Rangoon, shrimp cocktail and the calamari. Although all of the appetizers I’ve tried were wonderful, I can’t get enough of the crab cakes.
For lunch, I almost always order the spinach salmon salad. It is made up of salmon cooked how you like it on top of spinach with almonds, pears, feta cheese, strawberries, and vinaigrette on top or served on the side. For dinner, I have only gone back and forth between the three by the sea and the filet mignon. Three by the sea is filling and sure to please. It is made of salmon, shrimp and scallops all served over parmesan pecorino risotto. The filet mignon is tender to perfection. It comes in 4oz, 6oz and 8oz size with your choice of two sides. I always get the asparagus and mashed potatoes for my side items.
The Venue is a very classy and cozy restaurant with excellent food, service, and staff. The prices of the dinner menu are on the high end, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Parking is not a problem unless the restaurant is already full inside. On special occasions, you have to make reservations. If you want to eat there on Valentine’s Day you should make reservations at least two weeks in advance because the seats go very fast.
The Venue restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM until 11:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 Am. Lunch and dinner are equally good but it gets busy at dinner time.
